Real Estate Sale Statistics in Turkey

Residential Sales Statistics, December 2015.

In Turkey in the year of 2015 1 289 320 housing sales results have been achieved.

Residential sales have been increased by 10.6% compared to the previous year in 2015. Housing sales in 2015: in Istanbul 239 767 home sales were made with the highest share (18.6%). Istanbul, according to the number of sales, has progressed in residential sales 146 537 (11.4%) and Ankara, 77 796 in home sales (6%), followed by Izmir. The sales took place in Hakkari with at least 139 housing deals. Turkey sold approx., 434 388 of the housing, other types of sales reached the number of 854 932.

Housing sales figures 2014-2015:

142 599 housing was sold in December 2015 in Turkey. In general

Home sales in Turkey increased by 5.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, for instance in December 2015 there were 142 599. Housing sales in Istanbul experienced steady increase and reached 26 595 home sales with the highest share (18.7%). Istanbul, according to the number of sales, in the sector of residential sales had 16 046 (11.3%) deals compare to Ankara, where home sales had just 8345 (5.9%), followed by Izmir.

Mortgage sales in December 2015 reached 40 283 in whole

Turkey, which shows a decrease of 6.6%, compared to the same month of the previous year. The share of total housing sales in mortgagee sales amounted to 28.2%. Istanbul showed 8826 home sales in mortgage sales and took first place with 21.9% share. The share of total housing sales in mortgagee sales was Ardahan province with the highest of 55%.

As a result of other types of sales 102 316 houses have been sold and bought across other home sales in Turkey, which in total increased by 11.8% compared to the same month of the previous year. Istanbul had 17 769 residential sales and took first place with 17.4% share. The share of total housing sales in Istanbul in other sales was 66.8%. On the other hand, Ankara had 10 611 housing sales and took the second place with sales of other houses. Izmir took the 5th place with 861 home sales followed.

Residential housing sales reached the number of 74 032 for the first time in Turkey compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of houses sold increased by 12.4% .The share of total sales in the first housing sales was 51.9%. The first sale in Istanbul was 13 625 in home sales with the highest share (18.4%), whereas 8 031 home sales were made in Ankara and Izmir with 3695 home sales followed.

Second-hand housing sales with 68 567 housing have taken place in Turkey.

Second-hand housing sales in Turkey had 68567 which showed a decrease of 0.4% compared to the same month of the previous year. Second-hand housing sales in Istanbul reached 12 970 in residential sales with 18.9% share. The share of total housing sales in Istanbul in second-hand sales was 48.8%, which lead Istanbul to the first place in this sector. Ankara took the second place with 8015 home sales. Izmir took the 4 the place 4 with 650 residential sales.

In 2015 Turkey has sold 22 830 housing home sales to foreigners which shows an increase of 20.4% over the previous year 2014. Istanbul took the first place in 2015 in residential sales to foreigners with housing 7493, Antalya took the second place with 6072 housing. Antalya, Bursa and Yalova had 1 425 residential sales and followed Istanbul and Ankara.

Foreign sales wise in December 2015 Istanbul took the first place with 977 residential sales. Province of Antalya had 460 residential sales, followed by Bursa and Yalova with 118 home sales and 139 residential sales respectively.

Iraqi citizens have made the majority of home sales.

Iraqi citizens in 2015 bought a massive number of 4228 housing in Turkey. 2704 cases of purchasing the Turkish property belong to Iraq and Saudi Arabia, 2 130 to Kuwait , 2 036 to Russia and 1054 to the UK.

In December, Iraqi citizens purchased 512 residential apartments. Saudi Arabia made 258 housing deals, the Russian Federation and Kuwait 209 and 150 residential housing deals respectively.

Gender wise, 774 874 males became homeowners in Turkey in 2015, 382 237 females, which makes up (60.1%) for males and (29.6%) for females. 29 708 (2.3%) housing deals were made jointly by males and females or couples. Istanbul performed 67 960 residential sales in the province, which reached a female share up to 17.8%. Males in Istanbul made 141011 housing deals; the joint number of housing deals made by males and females in Istanbul was 7871. In Hakkari became a province where at least 110 sales took place.
